NZ-China Trade and the FTA Upgrade
23rd March 2021
5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
YA is back with a face-to-face event this March 2021!
Are you interested in international trade? Want to know what the world-first Fair Trade Agreement upgrade between China and New Zealand means? Perhaps you want to rub shoulders with a lead negotiator from MFAT?
Trade agreements are critical for economic development and access to a wide range of goods and services. We can only pay for the goods and services we import from overseas by selling exports to other countries. At the moment, international trade (exports and imports) makes up around 60% of New Zealand’s total economic activity.
Join us at an evening speaker event on New Zealand’s international trade, and what the recent upgrade in our FTA with China means. Learn more about the ins and outs of the FTA, how it works, what it means for businesses in New Zealand, and about the New Zealand- China relationship in general. You will also hear what challenges and opportunities New Zealand businesses are having in the current complex trade environment.
We have two great speakers who will be covering this agreement and its latest update, and its wider implications on Aotearoa’s relationship with China.
This is the ‘Trade with China 101’ class you never got to take. You will also get the chance to network with switched-on, like-minded people you would not have had the chance to see in so long!
